It can lower your blood pressure and heart rate, alleviate stress and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. Equine therapy also helps people stuggling with addictions or mental illness. There are many life skills that horses can teach better than a person. Please contact us for more information.

Colleen Duggan-Cuomo, EFL Practitioner, ERYT- 500, YACEP,

Certified women’s coaching specialist, MA certified riding instructor

“I am an Equine Facilitated Learning Practitioner, certified through the HERD institute, an advanced certified yoga, meditation and breath-work teacher and a woman’s coaching specialist.  I am a founding partner of Breathing Lotus Living Arts and Breathing Lotus Yoga School (www.breathinglotus.net)

I specialize in helping women navigate life’s ups and down, but love working with anyone who is seeking personal growth.  Because of my unique skill set, I am able to help my clients address their challenges and meet their goals at every level – whether that’s physical, mental/emotional or spiritual.

Like us all, my life has had many challenging times - lost loved ones, becoming single in mid-life, financial challenges…. When I was most challenged, in deepest grief or feeling most alone, my horse and my yoga practice kept me grounded, helped me to relieve stress, gave me hope and returned me to my true nature - happy and healthy in body, mind and spirit. Horses have always been a part of my life. I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the healing magic of these majestic animals over and over again and am thrilled to be able to provide mindfulness programs and coaching with horses (and goats and dogs too!) at Stable Ground Wellness.”

Elizabeth Belcher, MSW, LICSW, EFL practitioner

“I have been an independently licensed clinical social worker in Massachusetts for 17 years, and in my personal life, I have been an avid equestrian and lover of all things “horse” for as long as I can remember. Merging these two passions into equine facilitated work has felt like one of the most natural progressions of my career. I received certification for Equine Facilitated Learning through the HERD Institute and practice within the HERD model.

As a therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a more fulfilling and authentic life. Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy and Learning is a rewarding and enlightening method of working together with horses towards those same goals. Through this experiential process clients are able to recognize and tend to areas of discomfort, insecurity, and stress in a unique way. This approach allows individuals to learn about and explore relationships within themselves, relationships with others, and also their environment, with intention. All work is unmounted, and no prior horse experience required!

I feel called to combine my passion for helping others lead their best lives and to connect with their genuine selves, and my passion for horses. It would be my privilege to work with you in this experiential process to help you achieve your goals.”
